FAQ

My Daysi Family App

The first user you create in the Daysi Family App automatically becomes the administrator of the Family App and therefore – among other things, also is the user who creates the rest of the family members as users in the system.

To create your Family and your Family Administrator you should do the following:

– Open the Daysi Family App on your phone.
– Click Sign-Up at the bottom of the screen
– Fill in the different fields and if you feel like it you can choose an image to be associated with your user (this can easily be changed later)
– Click Create and then your Daysi Family and first user will be created.

The App will then open and you can now create the rest of your family as users in the App.
You will also be asked to confirm that the App is welcome to send Push notifications – this function is used i.a. when other family members book you for an appointment – so you get a notification on the phone.

In our Freemium Version you can create up to 4 Family members and once they are created the last thing to do is just to install the App on their phone.
To create a Family Member please do the following: 

– Open the Menu and select the item Family Members
– Click on the “+” icon below.
– Fill in the individual fields with the relevant information and then click on Create.

This is only information that you need to enter to create a new Family Member.

There are other configuration parameters that can be configured for a Family Member, these fields are configured with default values. You can change them at any time. 

Once the Family Member is created, an email is sent with the login information and after the App is downloaded to the phone, the Family Member can log in to the Daysi Family App.

If a family member does not have an E-mail address, this user simply needs to be created by name (and not an e-mail). Creating this type of family member is done in much the same way as when creating a “regular” user:

To create a family member without an email address, follow these steps:

– Click on the Menu icon in the upper left corner,
– Then click on Family Members
– Click on the “+” icon below.
– Fill in the individual fields with relevant information.
– In the field E-mail / Username you just write the name that the user should have.
– Then click Create.

The following text then appears on the screen:

The user you are trying to create does not have an email but only a username. For the user to be able to log in to a device, you must first log in as an administrator, and then log out again. Then the user can log in without email. Do you still want to create the user without an email address?

The first time the user without an E-mail address will log in to the Daysi App you should do as follows:  

– Log-in as an administrator on the phone
– Log-out again.
– Log in with the user – ie. the name and password that you just created.
– The user is now ready to use the App.

This way you can create users in the Daysi Family App who do not have an email address.

Once the Daysi App is downloaded from AppStore or GooglePlay, you’re ready to go.

– Open the App by clicking on the Daysi Icon
– The first time you use the App, you must log in with Username and Password that the Family Administrator has created.
– When you use the App subsequently, you do not need to login – even if you close the App.

You can receive a new Password if you forget the Password, and need to login again.

Note: It is the Family Administrator who creates Family Members – see this point above. 

Daysi is an App that is installed on a Smartphone with iOS or Android as operating system.

– The app is downloaded via the Apple AppStore or Google Play.
– iPhone / iPad version requires IOS 11 or higher.
– Android version requires 6.0 or higher.

Daysi is designed to share all information and appointments between all family members in the family so everyone has a full overview of all Family appointments.

However, there are a number of features in the App where sharing of specific information can be individual configured. These functions are:

Appointments:
Private Appointment:
An appointment can be made Private so other Family Members only can see that you are busy at that time.

Delete Appointments:
For each family member you can configure which types of appointments  the person may delete. The two options are:
     – Delete only appointments you have created yourself
     – Delete all types of appointments.

This way you can ensure that some Family Members does not accidentally delete an appointment.


To-Do lists:
In this function you can configure two different parameters for each Family Member:
View ToDo-Lists
On each user you can configure which other Family Members who can view the ToDo list for the user.

Create ToDo-Tasks 
On each user you can configure which other Family Members who can create new ToDo-Tasks for the user.

The Family Administrator can change all parameters for the different Family Members and each user can also configure some of the parameters.

In order to achieve as high security as possible and at the same be in compliance with the GDPR rules, Daysi does not have access to your password.

Password can be changed in two different ways:

The User can change the password directly inside the App the following way:

– Open the Menu by clicking in the upper left corner
– Select My Profile  
– Select the item Change password
– Enter the new password in the two fields and click on the Change Password button
– The Password is nor changed

Receive a new password by E-mail: password:

If you have forgotten your password, you can select the item Forgot your password ? from the Login Page.

Appointments and Special Appointments

There are several ways you can create a new appointment:

New Appointment from Month Calendar
To create an appointment from the Month Calendar you should do as follows:  

– Click on the top right icon in the Top-bar to get view the Month Calendar.
– Select the person or whole family that you want to create the appointment for. 
– Tap on the date in the Month Calendar that you want the appointment created
– Then press the “+” button in the lower right corner.
– A new screen opens Create Appointment where the appointment is created 
– Fill in the fields with the various information about the agreement (What, Where, Who) etc. which is relevant.
– Select Start/End time for the appointment.
– Press Repeat if the appointment should be repeated. 
– Press Alarm if the person should get a notification before the appointment begins.
– Finally, the Note is for additional comments.
– When you press OK the appointment will be created.

New agreement from the Activity List,
To create an appointment from the Activity List you should do as follows:  

– Click on the top right icon in the Top-bar to get view the Activity List 
– Then press the “+” button in the lower right corner.
– A new screen opens Create Appointment where the appointment is created 
– Fill in the fields with the various information about the agreement (What, Where, Who) etc. which is relevant.
– Select Start/End time for the appointment.
– Press Repeat if the appointment should be repeated. 
– Press Alarm if the person should get a notification before the appointment begins.
– Finally, the Note is for additional comments.
– When you press OK the appointment will be created.

Note: If the specific time for the activity is not specified, the calendar will always choose 12:00.

The first time you open Daysi Family App, you will be asked to confirm that Daysi may send you Push notifications. REMEMBER to confirm this to receive Push notifications.

When you have approved this, Daysi will send you Push notifications in the following situations:

New Appointments
When you are booked for a new appointment or an existing appointment is updated you will receive a push notification with information about the appointment.

Alarms on Appointments
If an appointment is configured with one or more Alarms, then you will receive a notification before the appointment starts depending on the chosen alarm.

It is possible to synchronize your Daysi Calendar with many other external calendars:

There are a number of ways to integrate Daysi with other calendars:

Show Daysi in other Calendars
You can see your Daysi appointments in another calendar – e.g. Outlook or Google Calendar.

Import appointments from other Calendars
You can import appointments from other calendars to Daysi so you get a comprehensive overview of all appointments in the Daysi Calendar.

Configuration of your Daysi Family App

There are a number of parameters that can be configured for the calendar that controles how the App in general i used in Your Family.  

The parameters that can be configured for the calendar are as follows:

– The family picture
– The name of your Daysi Family
– Color for Family Appointments and for Special Appointments
– Holidays to be entered in the calendar (there are holidays for a number of different countries that can be entered)
– Standard Alarm on new agreements that are created.

To share the calendar for a Family Member with another Daysi Family, you should do as follows:

– Go to Menu and then select  Configuration/Share your Calendar
– Under each person is a check box and the text Share the calendar with another Daysi Family
Select the Family Member where you want to share the Calendar for this user. 
– Then enter the E-mail address of the Family Administrator for the Daysi Family that should have access to the calendar for this Family Member. 
– Tap Invite.
– An E-mail will now be sent to the Family Administrator for the Daysi Family who should have access to the calendar. 
– The Family Administrator for the other Daysi family just needs to accept to see this calendar.

This feature is available if you have upgraded to the Premium Version which also have a lot of other ekstra functions.

It is the Family Administrator who should configure i a calendar should be share with another Daysi Family.

My Daysi App

If you delete the App on your phone you will not loose any information.
This is beacuse that all your Calendar information are syncronized to our servers.

This also means, that you can delete the App on your phone at any time and just re-install it again.

The only thing you need to make sure, is to log-on with the same User Information.

Many app. problems can typically be solved by deleting the installed app and then re-installing it!

This action will not have a negative impact on the data in your App, as all data is syncronized to our servers.

When you download the app again, you must log in with the same e-mail address and password and then you have access to all your informations again.

If this action does not help, please contact support@daysi.dk with a description of the problem. 

If you have got a new phone, it is very easy to transfer all the data to this new phone.

Download the App on your new phone from either the Apple AppStore or Google Play and log in with the same E-mail and Password you originally used when you first downloaded Daysi.

After you log-in – all your data will be transfered to your new phone.  

And, it is not a problem if you switch from an IOS phone to an Androd phone – it’s the same calendar you get access to with all your information.

Other relevant information

Daysi is a Free App with a wide range of powerful features to create an overview of all the appointments in your family.

The free version can be used completely without any subscription.

There is also a Premium version that contains a number of additional strong features.

We beleive that The Daysi Family App is one of the world’s best online App’s with a Family Calendars and Family App.

We will therefore very sad if you do not want to use our App. But, if you want to leave you need to do as follows:
You must send us an e-mail (support@daysi.dk)  with the text:

I want to delete my Daysi account and with the name of your Daysi Family.

And please also, give us some feedback on why you want to leave us.

Once the account is deleted, all data for all family members will be deleted and cannot be re-established.

Please contact our support team at support@daysi.dk if you have any questions that need to have clarified.

Please include the email address you use in your Daysi account so that our support team can locate your account – to answer your specific question.

Note: Daysi does not have any phone support, but we will answer your question – as quickly as possible, typically within 1-2 days.
